It was fun for the family. It's quite an easy going experience with a good guide. The breakfast was better than any resort. Brilliant to see a good supply of fruits a starter. Well worth it. Will do it again next time we are in Rotorua. I loved this trip. It was very well conducted and the food was great. The village and all the activities were very well done. This was very slickly run. Excellent adventure to see glow worms in the forest. This is definitely one of the highlights of our trip to New Zealand. Stephen was our guide and he took us a short drive out of Rotorua to the native forest. We were equipped with lamps and head torches and led off into the trees. There we saw a wide variety of ferns and other plants.
The first sight we had of glow worms was by a waterfall. The second was nearby at a cliff face where there were hundreds of tiny lights looking like a clear starry night. This was something we will remember for ever.
The finale was a real clear starry night and Stephen pointed out some of the constellations. This is a must do trip if you are in or near Rotorua. This time, I decided to take a tour around the lakes to sites not usually frequented by tourists and even some locals. We visited lots of spectacular sites.
